Journey Through Sound: Fatih van Istanbul’s 2570 Km (Beat Album) Delivers Global Beats and Ancient Roots

1 minute, 37 seconds Read

Fatih van Istanbul has released his new project 2570 Km (Beat Album), and it is every bit as expansive and evocative as its title suggests. The record is a masterclass in merging rhythm, atmosphere, and instrumentation, weaving together influences from across continents into a unified sonic experience.

From pulsing four-on-the-floor grooves to intricate passages of exotic Anatolian instrumentation, the album flows like a true cinematic journey. Moments of high-energy beats are counterbalanced by chilled interludes, while reggae-inspired segments evolve into slow, dub-fused explorations enriched with eastern tonal colors. The result is a sound both remarkable and immersive — a body of work destined to stay on repeat for listeners who crave music that moves both body and spirit.

A Fusion of Heritage and Innovation

Describing his music as “Anatolian Dub Oriental Fusion,” Fatih brings together a lifetime of cultural influences. Born in 1991 in Şanlıurfa — the ancient city that is home to Göbeklitepe, often described as the cradle of civilization — he carries an instinctive connection to the sounds of history. Raised in Istanbul from 1997, he absorbed the city’s unique balance of East and West, shaping his ability to translate ancient rhythms into contemporary contexts.

By 2005, Fatih had stepped forward as an MC, blending the stories of Edessa with the street-level pulse of Jamaican dub. In 2020, his journey led him to Ghent, Belgium, where the canals of the Schelde offered new inspiration and a backdrop for blending Roman echoes with Istanbul’s free-spirited energy.

The Sound of a Journey

2570 Km (Beat Album) embodies that crossing of borders and eras. It is music where rivers and stones speak in basslines and melodies, where dub traditions intertwine with Anatolian textures, and where past and present exist in one space. Fatih’s work is at once ancestral and futuristic — a sound of heritage meeting freedom, East embracing West, and history resonating in the now.
