Lucius have just revealed their new raucous and infectious pop single ‘Something About You’, set for release on 18th March 2016.  ‘Something About You’ is taken from their forthcoming second album ‘Good Grief’ released on 11th March 2016 via Play It Again Sam.

In the band’s own words, ‘Blame it on mercury retrograde, or whatever it is, it dawned on us that many of our friends and loved ones were experiencing some rough times. ‘Something About You’ was an attempt to brighten their spirits, and even our own, especially given the darker nature of many of the other songs we knew would be included on the record.’

The sixties kaleidoscope-influenced video that accompanies the release was directed by Mimi Cave from LA whose work has premiered at the Los Angeles Film Festival and The San Francisco International Film Festival, amongst many others.

Lucius say of the video, “After arranging “Something About You” in the studio with the band, what started off as a nod to the sunnier side of the street ended up taking a darker harmonic turn, adding a certain ambiguity and depth to the overall message, which we then tried to capture visually with our director and friend, Mimi Cave who we’ve worked with in the past on the video for “Turn It Around’.  The underlying theme of the video is that not everything is what it appears at first glance.”

‘Good Grief’ which is due for release on March 11th via Play It Again Sam, is the highly anticipated follow up to Lucius debut album ‘Wildewoman’ – released in 2013. Produced by Shawn Everett (Weezer and The Alabama Shakes) and Lucius with Bob Ezrin  Alice Copper, Kiss & Pink Floyd), the album was mixed by Tom Elmhirst (Adele and Beck).
