Hello, Hope you are well. Congrats on your new single. Can you tell us who Olisha Naicker is?

Thank you. Just a girl with an undying passion for music

Your new single ‘I Need You’ has just gone to radio. What is the song about?

The song is about going through a hard time and needing someone to help you through it.

Tell us about the recording process – who produced the single, etc?

I had the entire song in my head and I reached out to my producer Paul McIver to help me to produce the song. I told him what I wanted for the song and he did an amazing job with the production.

Is this your first official single or have you released music before?

This is my first official single.

What are your biggest influences, locally and abroad?

On the local scene my biggest influence is definitely anyone pushing boundaries and making a great success out of an unconventional career. On the international front, my biggest influences are Michael Jackson, Jay Sean and The Backstreet Boys.

I see you have quite a few fans on facebook – do you have lots of supporters?

I do and am very grateful for each and every one of them.

What do you think the most important thing it takes to break into the Music Industry?

Passion and undying determination. It is an extremely difficult industry to break into therefore you have to remain focused on your goal, believe in yourself and never give up.

Do you write all of your songs and lyrics?

Yes, I do. It’s one of the things I love doing.

Can we expect a full album any time shortly?

Yes, I am actually working on my album at the moment and it’s planned for release in early 2016.

Watch this Space. Soundz of Afrika always supporting new breaking African artists.
